Securely uploading documentation to Great Lakes was made easier several years ago with the addition of our Secure File Upload tool. Here at Great Lakes, we're always looking for better ways to do things—so starting on April 20, 2017, there'll be one small improvement to how you submit documents to us using this tool.
If you use the Secure File Upload tool to transmit documentation to us, you'll now be prompted to select from a drop-down menu to indicate the type of documentation you're attaching.
The drop-down menu will help expedite sending your documentation to the right area within Great Lakes for processing. For example, forbearance and deferment forms, borrower death certificates, IDR forms, and enrollment verification forms will be quickly routed to the appropriate area.
This tool will otherwise work as you've always used it.
- You can include multiple student forms in one file, and Great Lakes will see that it is processed correctly.
- With the current tool, you can only upload one document per transmission. That will continue to be the case.
- The size limit for files remains the same at 100 MB file size. If your file is larger than this, please contact Client Services.
